For the 2014 season Lake Compounce is adding a new Campground called Bear Creek Campground. The campground will be located in the woods near the main entrance of the park. It will create a unique campground experience for Lake Compounce that will include 20 cabins, 5 tipis, a RV and Tents areas, and much more. From the details presented and look of the campsite, it will be an excellent addition to Lake Compounce. For more information, pricing, and to make reservations, visit the official Beak Creek Campground website.
On Saturday April 5th we went on a private tour of the park and was able to see the site of the campground and the current construction. So far the park has cleared all the land necessary and has recently started physical construction. The site looks very empty, but the area will look totally different in the next few months. While Bear Creek hasn't finished construction, the park is already planing an expansion of the campground for the future. Bear Creek Campground is scheduled to open on July 1st, 2014 at Lake Compounce! Enjoy the pictures and video below!

On August 25th, 2012 was the 13th annual Oc~Boulder~Fest at Lake Compounce. It is a yearly ACE event, with ERT on the one and only Boulder Dash.
The park opened to the general public at 11 am, the same time as registration began. We arrived on time, got set up, and headed straight to ride Boulder Dash, to get a quick ride on the fantastic Wooden Coaster. The ride only had a 10 minute wait, because the park just opened up. We then rode the Ghost Hunt, a indoor dark ride, then headed over to ride Zoomerang, a Vekoma Boomerang Coaster. They both also had very short waits.
It was already noon, and we headed over to the private picnic areas, where the park provided a wide verity of food for us, including BBQ chicken, burgers, beans, corn, salad, ice cream and more. We took our time eating, and waited for the ACE New England Rep, Rus, to get ready for a speech. He thanked everyone for coming out for the event, and talked what was planed for the rest of the day. It was then time for door prizes, which were free raffled off girts. This time, the door prizes were free coupons to use on food, gifts, and more throughout the park. We were lucky to win some, and that was able to pay dinner for us in the park!
After a fabulous lunch, Rus set up a Behind the Scenes Tour of the WildCat Wooden Coaster. Sadly the Wooden Coaster would be closed for the remainder of the 2012 season, but we were lucky enough to go inside where no general public can ever enter! We were able to get on the track, and inside the supports of the Coaster! Inside the head man at the park, Jerry told us the plans for the future of WildCat. They plan on remodeling the supports and track, along the first drop, and possible add in new trains in 2013. Also, each year the park will do some more work to re master this classic Wooden Coaster.
However, we shouldnt forget the reason why most of us visited the park that day, to ride Boulder Dash. As the time for ERT was approaching, we decided to take a ride on the sky ride, and a few other rides around the park. We then decided to hit Crocodile Creek, the water park at Lake Compounce, for a hour. We rode a few slides, including the new RipTide Racer. The new slide looks interesting awesome, but it was a very short.
It was then about 7:30, and we walked the park until 9:00, until the park closed. At 9:00 we all meet outside the entrance of Boulder Dash until ERT started, which was approximately 9:35. It lasted one full hour, until 10:35. I was able to get in a good 16 times, in the front car, and the back car. The ERT was a blast, as Boulder Dash ran very smooth, and it was great flying through the woods in pitch black.
This year, Oc~Boulder~Fest was fantastic! We would like to thank Rus, the ACE New England Regional Rep, and Jerry from Lake Compounce, for setting up the event! We all appreciate it, and cant wait for the event next year at Lake Compounce!
