On Sunday July 22nd, 2012 after vising Six Flags New England for the day, we decided to visit Quassy Amusement Park. We were only at Quassy for a short two hours, but it was great! It was the second time we visited Quassy this past year, and the first time was for Wooden Warrior Day 2012.
We arrived at Quassy at approximately 5:00 pm. We noticed that the park had an unlimited ride wristband good from 5:00 pm to close, for only $10 dollars. We bought the wristband, and headed straight to ride Wooden Warrior first. The incredible Wooden Coaster only had a 5 minute wait, and we rode the Coaster a few times. A line was then forming, and we decided to head over to ride the parks Kiddie Coaster, the Little Dipper. We then rode a few other rides in the park including the old fashioned swing ride, the Yo-yo.

After that, we decided to ride Wooden Warrior a few more times. By then, it was about 7:00 pm, and we decided to head home. We had a long day at Six Flags New England, and we were exhausted. It was a fun two hours at Quassy. We got to ride a few rides, including Wooden Warrior. If your ever in Connecticut, stop by at Quassy to have some fun, and ride Wooden Warrior!

On Sunday July 15th, 2012 Coaster Of The Day attended the ACE event, Luna Park Fest 2. The event was held at Luna Park in Coney Island, located in New York, New York. It was a very fun event, which included great deals, and ERT on the world famous Coney Island Cyclone.
The event registration was from 9:00/10:00 am. We arrived there when registration ended at 10 am. The cost for the event was $50 dollars per person, and it was well worth it. The price included a half hour of ERT, a 4 hour wrist band for Luna Park, and a few ride credits for the rides in Scream Zone. Usually, the price for all of this is well over $100 dollars, so ACE members recieved a big discount!
At 10:30, it was finally time for ERT (Exclusive Ride Time) on the Coney Island Cyclone. Usually the price per ride on the Coaster is $8 dollars, but we got to ride as many timed as we wanted in a half hour period for free! This event was not that crowded, so I was able to get over 6 rides on the classic Wooden Coaster! Personally, I think the Coney Island Cyclone is a fantastic Coaster. It defines the term 'Classic Wooden Coaster'. The rides seats are very comfortable, but the ride is very rough. However; it has improved a lot, as there was heavy re-tracking to the first drop. The first drop is now silk smooth, like a steel Coaster. Overall it was a great ERT session!

When ERT ended around 11:00 am, Luna Park was very kind to give everyone a trip inside the guest relations building. We got to go where only employees are allowed. Inside, we got a trip inside the conference room. There we were able to cool off, have another Q&A, and watch a POV of the Cyclone! Before we left to enjoy our day, the management was kind to give us free ice cold water bottles to enjoy on the hot day! This was very kind of Luna Park!
After cooling off, it was about 11:30 am, and we started to use our 4 hour Luna Park wrist band. The wrist band was good for unlimited rides on the rides and Coasters at Luna Park! The park was then generally empty, and we were able to get plenty of rides in. We rode many rides a ton of times, including the Brooklyn Flyer, the Spinning Wild Mouse (the Tickler), the Log Flume, and the crazy looping flat ride, Air Race.

We then decided to head over to the other park associated with Luna Park, the Scream Zone. Our registration fees included a few rides each on the rides and Coasters at Scream Zone. We rode the launched Steeplechase Horses Coaster, the flying Coaster, the Soaring Eagle, and a few more insane Thrill Rides.
After, it was about 2:00 pm. We were very tired and hot, so we decided to cool off in the car and take a small break. After it was about 2:30, and we headed back to Luna Park. We got a few more rides in using our ride wrist band.
At about 3:00 pm, we headed over to the neighboring Amusement Park, Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park. We the rode the world famous Wonder Wheel and took a quick ride on the one of a kind Haunted House, the Spook-o-Rama. It was then approximately 4:00 pm. We were exhausted, and had a long drive back home. We decided to head home.
Our day at Coney Island was fantastic! It was a fun ACE event, and we got to ride some great Rides, including the Coney Island Cyclone. Thanks a lot ACE for hosting this event, and we cant wait until next year for Luna Park Fest 3!
On Saturday June 2nd, 2012 the Coaster Of The Day team attended the popular Seaside Screams 6 event at Casino Pier. It was hosted by Casino Pier and A.C.E. (American Coaster Enthusiasts) in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. It was a great event filled with ERT, tours, and scavenger hunts. Overall it was a very fun and interesting day on the boardwalk.
The event begin at 10:30 am with a V.I.P. tour of the park, before it opened to the general public. This tour included their popular Dark Ride/ Haunted House, Stillwalk Manor. Following the tour, a 1 hour ERT session began. Exclusive Ride Time was offered on all four of the parks Roller Coasters (Wild Mouse, Star Jet, Pirates Hideaway, and Hot Tamales).
At approximately noon, the park opened to the general public. The Casino Pier management was kind enough to offer us all-day ride bracelets, which is good for including the up charge attraction, the Skyscraper.
At 1 pm, a scavenger hunt for A.C.E. began. The contest was to find 10 stars on rides, across the park. The winners received various prizes, including some old park memorabilia, and park tickets.
Following Casino Pier, we went to the neighboring park, Funtown Pier. On the boardwalk we then saw Snooki! At Funtown Pier we had an enjoyable experience there, with plenty of coasters and thrill rides. We enjoyed Funtown Pier, but we favored the neighboring Casino Pier
It was then about 4 pm and we decided to leave Seaside Heights, and head to Six Flags Great Adventure for the evening.
The 6 hours that we spent at Seaside Heights were amazing. The ACE event was terrific, and we filmed a lot of videos, including a POV of Star Jet, Wild Mouse, Skyscraper, and a V.I.P. tour of Stillwalk Manor (all videos were filmed WITH park permission!) Casino Pier offers a great family boardwalk fun that everyone should experience.
