On Saturday August 11th, 2012 we headed to Dorney Park. We only had two short hours at the park, but we managed to get a ride on each of the parks main Coasters.
We left out house early in the morning at about 7:00 am. It took over 3 hours to get to the park, and we arrived at the park at approximately 10:15 am, right after the park opened. First, I had to process me season pass, which took some time. We then headed to ride the new Coaster in the park, Stinger, which was formally Invertigo at California's Great America. Stinger is a Vekoma Inverted Boomerang Coaster, and it happened to be my 246th Coaster. The Coaster had no wait at the time, due to that the Coaster just opened, and it is located in the far back corner of the park. Overall, Stinger was a good addition to the park. It fits perfectly where it is, in the former location of the classic Coaster , Laser. The Coaster was intense, with great g forces, and it was very smooth.
After riding Stinger, we went to ride the Intamin Inverted Impulse Coaster, Possessed (Voodoo). That also had a very short wait, and as always, it was a great Coaster. We then headed over to ride the tallest Coaster in the park, Steel Force. It too had a very short wait time. However, The 15 year old Coaster is showing signs of aging, and it is getting a little rough. Still, it is a great Coaster.
It was then about noon, and we headed over to ride the unique steel B&M Florless Coaster, Hydra: The Revenge. However, the Coaster was then broken down at that time, so we went over to ride the B&M Inverted Coaster, Talon. It is still among the best Inverted Coaster, along with Great Bear, Silver Bullet, and Alpengiest. We quickly then headed back over to Hydra, and got a quick ride on it.
After that, it was almost 1 pm, and we stopped quickly at the Doney Park gift shop. We bought the Scorpion Inverted Roller Coaster model that has been sitting in the gift shop for many years. We payed a lot of money for the model, but it was well worth it.
Finally, we had to leave our exciting day at Dorney, and head home. I personally had work that day at 5 pm, so we had to get back home. It was a great few hours at Dorney Park, and we got to ride some fantastic Coasters, including my 246th Coaster, Stinger!
