On August 30th, 2012 we visited Kings Dominion for a third day in a row. This time, we stopped quickly for a few hours before our long voyage back home.
We arrived approximately 11:30 am that day, and as it was the last few days, the park was mostly empty. We decided to do the Roller Coasters at the park that we did not ride this trip. First we rode the old Dinn Coaster, Grizzly, and then headed over to ride the other old, rough Wood Coaster at the park, Hurler. We decided to skip Ricochet, because its a Wild Mouse, and why would we want to ride one of those? We also took another spin on the Rebel Yell, because it is one of the best Wooden Coaster in Virginia and the south.
It then was extremely hot, so we took a quick ride on the Log Flume to cool off, and rode Windseeker and Drop Tower again to dry off. We then only had time for one more ride left, so we headed to Intimidator 305. There was an only station wait, and we rode the back row twice, to experience its intense airtime and grey-outs!
Sadly, it was about 2 pm, and it was already time for us to leave the park. We had a 8 hours drive home, which turned into over 14 hours because of traffic! We would have loved to stay at Kings Dominion for another day, to re-ride Intimidator 305 forever! Also to ride there other fantastic Coasters and Rides, including Volcano, the Blast Coaster, Flight of Fear, Anaconda, Dominator, Rebel Yell, Drop Tower, Windseeker, and more! It was a fantastic week at Kings Dominion, and we plan to visit it again soon!
3-day trip to Kings Dominion rating: 9/10
