On July 17th and 18th we visited Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Six Flags America is one of the smallest and least popular among of the Six Flags Parks. While it is not as famous as other Six Flags Parks, Six Flags America was still a fun and enjoyable Amusement Park.
We decided to take a last minute road trip to Six Flags America mainly to get more photos and to revisit the park and ride just the major Coasters again (The last time we were there previous was 2009). We were at the Park for about 7 hours total the two days, which is not a lot. We basically rode just the major Coasters and took pictures. While the park is small, it does have a few very good Coasters that we love, including Jokers Jinx and Superman Ride of Steel. These two Coasters are among our favorite Coasters of all time. The other Coasters at the park, including Batwing, Apocalypse, Wild One, Roar are all good Coasters, but not too good enough to re-ride a ton of times. This makes Six Flags America not as popular, because it only has a few excellent Coasters.
Another good thing about Six Flags America is that it never gets too crowded. When Six Flags Great Adventure has virtually hour waits for all of its Coasters most of the time, Six Flags America was virtually empty. It was so empty we got dozens of rides on Superman and Jokers Jinx. It also made the whole park experience much better. It is nicer walking around an Amusement Park that isn't too crowded instead of walking around an Amusement Park that is overly crowded.
If you have not visited Six Flags America yet, check it out. It is a fun Park, that's never too crowded, with a few great Coasters. While it is not one of the best Amusement Parks, it still is a good park to visit once in a while.
