A few days ago, Screamscape reported that Six Flags New England park reps will be attending a board meeting on July 19th, 2012. At the meeting, they will be showing site plans for 2013 projects. One of the projects was listed as "Main Street - Star Flier".
Does this confirm SFNE will receive a Star Flier (SkyScreamer) attraction in 2013? Well, yes and no. It seems Six Flags New England is defiantly thinking about adding a SkyScreamer, but this does not 100% guarantee this. Remember, Six Flags New England is just proposing this idea to the town board. The project could get rejected by the town, plans might fall through, or SFNE might decide not to add it into the park.
But, let's say Six Flags New England will receive a Star Flier attraction in 2013. Where will it go? Based on the file, SFNE will place it in the Main Street section of the park. But, where will it exactly be located in Main Street?

One possible location for SFNE's SkyScreamer, could be in the former Thomas Town section of the park. (This is the section in Red in the photo above.) The Tomas Town section was located to the right of the parks main entrance. This would be a good location for it, because there is plenty of room for the attraction. This is also the only big space in the Main Street section of the park. However, I think this location is too close to the parks entrance. Personally, I do not like it when there is a huge attraction/ride is located right when guests opener the park.
Another bad thing about this location is my proposed Water Park expansion can not occur. My idea was the park could use that section of the park for a new convenient location for the water park, and add in more water rides. I would rather have this occupy the old Thomas Town, instead of SkyScreamer.
SFNE could also add in a SkyScreamer into an area near the Thunderbolt Wooden Coaster and the Scream Drop Tower. (Thunderbolt and Scream are currently the only attractions in Main Street.) They can easily remove a few buildings, and place SkyScreamer some where there. (Remember, SkyScreamer does not take up a lot of space!)
If the park really wants to add in a Star Flier, they can also add it to any other section of the park. Now, the park is proposing to the town board that they want it in the Main Street section of the park. Plans could change, and the new attraction could be placed any where else in the park.

Could Six Flags New England receive a Star Flier in 2013?

We will find out more information about Six Flags New England's possible SkyScreamer attraction soon!
Do you think Six Flags New England will receive a Star Flier in 2013 ?
Six Flags New England's Water Park, Hurricane Harbor, is a major section of the park. The last time Hurricane Harbor got a new major attraction for the Water Park was in 2005, 7 years ago! I think 2013 is the year for a new attraction and more for SFNE's Hurricane Harbor.
*Remember, these are just our ideas on this topic!*
It has been a long time since Six Flags New England took interest into its Water Park. Hurricane Harbor is a major section in the park and it needs some work. It is getting more popular each year, and the park is small and needs some expanding. One of our ideas, as part of a possible expansion of Hurricane Harbor, is adding a new Entrance to it. A great location is the former site of Thomas Town. Thomas Town was a small kiddie section of the park that closed a few years ago. Conveniently, it was located right next to the parks main entrance. So now Six Flags New England can move the location of Hurricane Harbor to the main entrance of the park.
Here is the main entrance area to Six Flags New England. The area circled in the black is the site of the former Thomas Town.

The yellow area is where the new entrance to Hurricane Harbor could possibly be. The blue are shown could be a nice new entrance area look for the Water Park. This could include a new changing house, gift shops, bathrooms, etc. Lastly, the red line shows an approximate path way to Hurricane Harbor.

This entrance move would be very convenient for a lot of people. Instead of having the entrance across the whole park near Batman - The Dark Knight it can be placed at the main entrance. A lot of people would love this because if people go to SFNE just for Hurricane Harbor, they can enter right from the main entrance. Also, a lot of people get confused on where the current entrance to the water park is. People do not have to walk around the park just to get there! Dorney Park's Water Park (Wild Water Kingdom) is also set up like this. Wild Water Kingdoms entrance is right after you enter the park, and it is very convenient for people. Hopefully SFNE will do the same for Hurricane Harbor. This can be a great part of an expansion to improve the popular water park.
Next, SFNE can add in more water slides and attractions. A few possible locations can be where the current entrance (maybe soon to be former entrance) of Hurricane Harbor. If it is vacant, they can add a few more water slides. They can even expand a little further along the lift hill of Batman - The Dark Knight and into some of the employee parking lot. Also remember, a few water slides do not take up a lot of space! It is easy to add in a few water slides in a lot of locations. The park can even find a few more places to add more water park attractions throughout Hurricane Harbor.

So there are our views on Six Flags New England's possible Hurricane Harbor expansion. The Water Park can have a new entrance occupying the former Thomas Town area, near the parks main entrance. They can also add in a few more water slides and attractions to the popular water park.
